Surfside Venice

If there’s one thing you need to know about Elisa and I, is that we are total foodies. We live for trying new restaurants in and around Los Angeles. We had never tried Surfside Venice, so when we got invited for a food tasting, we couldn’t resist. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt welcoming and cozy… like walking into your friends beach house. The restaurant really stands by its name with their all around beachy vibes and surfboard decor (cue Beyonce’s Drunk in Love). Surfside is a great place to hang out with friends, unwind, and enjoy the delicious variety of food and yummy cocktails. A major plus is that it’s only a few steps away from the Venice boardwalk.

Surfside offers a full service bar with a variety of local/import beers, wines, and cocktails. We began with a few of their recommended cocktails and they did not disappoint! They were both pretty AND tasty. Pictured below (from left to right) is the Boardwalk Breeze, Sun Tan, and Pink Bikini. So refreshing!

The menu is filled with Cali’s diverse comfort food. From Korean infused fries to L.A. Street corn, everything we tried on the menu was savory and gratifying. So, whether you’re in the mood for something vegan/gf or a hearty burger, Surfside has you covered.

Immediately the Korean Tacos and Breakwater Burger called our name. The 1/2 lb angus beef goes on a brioche bun topped with applewood, bacon, aged cheddar, tomato, grilled onion, bibb lettuce, tangy sauce, and pickles… YUM!

The tacos were so delicious! The drizzled siracha aioli was the perfect touch to the bulgogi, short rib, carm kimchi taco. Not to mention, they sprinkle it with onions and cilantro- perfection!

After visiting Surfside, we can honestly say we are fans. We enjoyed the ambiance and how it was slightly off the boardwalk giving it a more intimate vibe. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s in the Venice area looking for a laid back spot with flavorsome food and refreshing drinks. We can check it off our bucket list for now, but can’t wait to go back and try something else!
